01 · The problem
Sign shops price channel letters and monument signs across three spreadsheets, lose track of materials and have no view of production or installs. One misplaced decimal turns an $8,000 job into a $4,200 quote. The legacy ERP behind SquareCoil couldn't scale to serve many shops.
02 · What I built
Led the architecture to modernize it into multi-tenant SaaS with a database-per-tenant strategy: separate enterprise, corporate and customer apps; API design; migration planning from the legacy system; secure file storage for artwork and proofs; and an audit ledger for every quote and job change.
03 · Outcome
A platform built exclusively for sign shops — smart estimating, real-time inventory, production visibility and install coordination — with data migration and live onboarding so shops can be set up in 7–14 days.
Highlights
